Participating in the Harlem Fine Arts Show this year for Black History Month was a transformative experience for me and my studio, 'Younity Studios.' Surrounded by esteemed artists like Luca Goly, Yuzly Mathurin, Jus10 Ellis, DntWatchTV, Thomas E. Lockhart III, Bones The Machine, Robert L. Newman, I felt a sense of camaraderie and recognition that has propelled my career forward.
My newly appointed Executive Assistant and "Art Mom," Deborah Hesketh, was invaluable, ensuring our team was well-supported while Machine Gun Funk helped facilitate our transport and access to the venue. Amid running errands and preparing flyers, merchandise, etc. —hanging all my paintings alone became a profound test of my inner strength, a journey I embraced with the spirits of my Haitian ancestors urging me on. One memorable moment was the unexpected appearance of Adora Tokyo, which instantly inspired both me and my staff.

The acclaim my work received, particularly my 'Super Kim' piece, sparked renewed passion in me after a challenging few months. Artists, Collectors and Connoisseurs alike described my approach to art as 'scientific,' which truly resonated with my goal to explore the complexity of 'blackness.' Upon the final day David TV Barnes & I closed out with a special Spoken Word Jazz performance which left people feeling a bit more connected to my work.
From stickers to newly framed prints, this experience has reignited my artistic fire. Special thanks to the Glasshouse, Ms. Loretta, Art Director Richard, Genevieve, Sekou, Nala and the dynamic team Zana Ray, Snaps & Kutz and the whold HFAS Team. Looking ahead, I am eager to participate in more events and further develop my artwork. Prepare to see a newer evolved Mr. Moda.
